Preparing Your Home to be Sold: Everything You Need to Know About Colors
Choosing the right color for your home can be tricky (and don’t even get me started on choosing the right shade!). What is the difference between a shade and a hue anyways??
Hue: The pure version of the color
Tint: white is added to the color
Shade: black is added to the color
Tone: gray is added to the color
Neutralized Hue: clear color without the intensity, done by adding its complimentary color
Colors are a way to tell a person how they should feel when entering a room. However, be sure not overwhelm them! Before choosing colors, think about what certain colors make people think and feel.
Red: strong, warmth, intensity, aggression
Orange: energetic, social, intrusive
Yellow: happiness, hope, egocentric
Green: fresh, clean, sick, common
Blue: relaxing, calm, sadness
Purple: royalty, integrity, strict
White: purity, light, emotionless, plain
Black: power, elegance, defiance
Gray: conservative, quiet, passive
With these in mind, it is always a good idea to take a look at the Pantone Color of the Year and trends.
